Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add an authenticator?

To add an authenticator:

  1. Tap the "Add" button on the home screen
  2. Choose either "Scan QR" to scan a QR code from your service provider, or add manually
  3. If adding manually, enter the provider name (e.g., Google, GitHub) and the secret code provided by the service
  4. Tap "Add Authenticator" to save

Your new authenticator will appear in the list and start generating codes immediately.

How do I delete an authenticator?

To delete an authenticator:

  1. Find the authenticator you want to delete on the home screen
  2. Tap the delete (trash) icon in the top-right corner of the authenticator card
  3. Confirm the deletion in the popup that appears

Note: Deleted authenticators are moved to the Bin and kept for 90 days. You can restore them from the Bin menu option if needed.

How do I rename or edit my account name?

To edit your account name:

  1. Open the menu by tapping the menu icon (☰) in the top-left
  2. Select "Account" from the menu
  3. Tap the edit (pencil) icon next to your name
  4. Type your new name
  5. Tap the checkmark icon to save or X to cancel

Your name will be updated across the app immediately.

I'm having trouble logging in. What should I do?

If you're experiencing login issues:

  • Forgot password: Use the "Forgot Password?" link on the login screen to reset your password via email
  • Wrong credentials: Double-check your email and password for typos
  • Account locked: After multiple failed attempts, wait a few minutes before trying again
  • Email not verified: Check your email inbox (including spam) for a verification link
  • Network issues: Ensure you have a stable internet connection

How do I transfer my authenticators to a new device?

To transfer authenticators to a new device:

On your old device:

  1. Open the menu and select "Export"
  2. Select the authenticators you want to transfer (all are selected by default)
  3. Tap "Export" to generate a QR code

On your new device:

  1. Install and login to UnderJoy Authenticator
  2. Open the menu and select "Import"
  3. Tap "Scan QR" and scan the QR code from your old device

All selected authenticators will be imported instantly!

What happens to deleted authenticators?

When you delete an authenticator:

  • It's moved to the Bin (accessible from the menu)
  • It's kept for 90 days before permanent deletion
  • You can see how many days remain before auto-deletion
  • You can restore it anytime within the 90-day period
  • After 90 days, it's automatically and permanently deleted

To restore a deleted authenticator, go to Menu → Bin → tap the restore icon.

Does the app work offline?

Yes! UnderJoy Authenticator works fully offline:

  • Code generation: All authentication codes are generated locally on your device
  • Offline access: You can view and use all your authenticators without internet
  • Data sync: When you're back online, any changes sync automatically to the cloud
  • Network indicator: The app shows your connection status in the top-right corner

Your codes will continue working even if you have no internet connection!
